Sobeys x NHL 2023

The Client
Sobeys is the official grocer of the NHL. Sobeys wanted to continue to provide value to hockey fans this season through the intersection of food, family and experience.

The Ask
We were asked to create a contest concept for the Sobeys x NHL partnership, the game would be integrated into their existing app platforms. We were to create 2 versions of the game for Sobeys and Safeway grocery brands.

The Work
We began with developing an idea for the game, in parallel the users journey was planned out to include CRM, paid social, push notifications, a landing page as well as a game to exist within the current brand application. By having the game exist within the application this would also drive downloads.

The concept that was selected, was to have users select their winning teams each week from a series of 5 different NHL games. The user would have a selection period to make their picks and then they would be rewarded each week based on how many correct games they guessed.
